The Citizen – Times, AC-S Golf Teams to Compete in Tournaments





The Allen County-Scottsville golf teams will compete in tournaments on Monday and Tuesday.

The Patriot golf team of Owen Stamper, Tate Stinson, Brett Rippy, Dawson Birge and Bryson Bonds will participate in the Region 3 Golf Tournament on Monday, Sept. 25, at the Indian Hills Country Club in Bowling Green.

AC-S golfers will begin their 18-holes on the first tee at 9:45 a.m. when Bonds starts his round. Birge will tee off from the hole at 10 followed by Rippy at 10:15 and Stinson at 10:30. Stamper tees at 10:45 from the first tee box.

The Patriot golfers will play in foursomes with golfers from Franklin-Simpson, South Warren and Bowling Green. The Region 3 Golf Tournament features 80 golfers representing 18 schools. Play starts Monday at 8:30 a.m. with golfers beginning rounds at both the first and 10th-hole tee boxes.  The winners and state tournament qualifiers will be determined late Monday afternoon.

Lady Patriot golfers Hannah Beltz and Aly Miller will participate in the Region 4 Golf Tournament next Tuesday, Sept. 26, at the Glasgow Country Club in Glasgow.


Miller opens her round at 9 a.m. as she tees from the first hole. Beltz will follow with a 9:15 start at the same hole. 

The Lady Patriot golfers will play in threesomes, with golfers from Edmonson County and Metcalfe. The Region golf tournament features 73 golfers representing 16 schools. Play starts Tuesday 9 a.m. with golfers beginning rounds at both the first and 10th-hole tee boxes.  The winners and state tournament qualifiers will be determined late Tuesday afternoon.

Tuesday’s play will include nine holes that Miller will be familiar. Miller—along with her middle school classmate Joshua Sikes—will participate in the nine-hole girls and boys middle school regional tournament Sunday, Sept. 24. Play begins at 3 p.m. Sunday. Miller will tee from hole four while Sikes begins his round at 3:05 at hole eight.
