Pamplin Media Group – UnCorked celebrates abundance of wines, beers

The Forest Grove community and beyond will once again get the chance to get uncorked.

Forest Grove’s ninth annual UnCorked celebration will be happening on Main Street in downtown on Saturday, Aug. 19 between 4 and 9 p.m.

The event promotes and celebrates the abundance of fine wineries, micro-brew beer, spirits, food, fine art, and local music talent in Forest Grove, Washington County, and the northern Willamette Valley. In addition to promoting the city, local vendors, and Oregon wineries and breweries, the event is also designed to raise money for a local, service-oriented charity by providing a relaxing, safe and comfortable adult environment in which to enjoy the food, drinks and live music.

This year’s recipient is the Community Outreach program at the Forest Grove Police Department.

This year’s UnCorked will feature a wide variety of vendors for food, drinks and more. Kaiser Brewing, SakeOne, Plum Hill Winery, Apolloni Vineyards, Portland Cider, Waltz Brewing, Bull Run Cider, David Hill Winery and many more will be on-site making pours.

Forest Grove restaurants Yellow Llama and Miget’s Island Grill will be serving up eats to enjoy. Last year’s celebration drew around 1,000 people. Event organizers say they’ve experienced a rise in prepaid tickets so far.

Audiences will be able to listen to the sounds of singer and songwriter Tom Cohen, the PDX Band, and Kyle Blessing & Josh Smith throughout the evening. Eventgoers can also browse art from Heavy Barrel Designs, UnWined Furniture and For Your Glass Only.

Every year UnCorked puts together a raffle, filling a half wine barrel with donations from wineries, business owners and loyal supporters. All of the proceeds go to the charity group chosen for that year. Tickets are $5 each and those participating do not have to be present to win.

Admission to UnCorked is $10, tickets can be purchased at the entrance, or online…
