Boating safety: U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 54 has a one-day safe boating course from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Harvey Oyer Park in Boynton Beach. Topics include boat handling, safety equipment, docking, line handling and knot tying as well as running in foul weather, rules of the road, basic navigation and new federal and state laws. The cost is $20 for adults, $10 for ages 14-18 and free for those under 14 attending with a paid adult. The cost for three or more adults is $50 maximum. A textbook costs $10. Fishing Classic: The annual Spring Fishing Classic at Bass Pro Shops in Dania Beach features seminars by guides Neal Stark, Charlie Williams and Brian Lebowitz Friday through Sunday. Stark talks at 6:30 p.m. Friday and at 1 and 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Williams talks at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday and Lebowitz at 1 and 3:30 p.m. Saturday. A women’s fishing workshop is March 4. Sailfish tournament: The Sailfish Challenge, the third leg of the Quest for the Crest Sailfish Series, is Friday and Saturday.
