National Alliance For Caregiving Names C. Grace Whiting As President And CEO

“Over the past 22 years, we’ve built the Alliance into the premier family caregiving organization. I’m confident that Grace will now take us to the next level, through her vision and ability to forge excellent partnerships,” said founding president and CEO Gail Gibson Hunt.

The National Alliance for Caregiving, a non-profit organization dedicated to research and advocacy on behalf of family caregivers, has named C. Grace Whiting, J.D., as President and CEO. Whiting most recently served as Chief Operating Officer at the Alliance and is taking on the position from founding President and CEO Gail Gibson Hunt, who will now serve as an advisor to the organization.

“Continuity for the Alliance is a priority for the organization and we achieve that by elevating Grace to CEO,” said Janet McUlsky, Board of Directors Chair. “Grace and Gail have worked together for years and we are fortunate to be able to promote a long-time Alliance staff member with expertise in caregiving issues to lead the organization and build on its strong foundation,” she added.

Gail Gibson Hunt founded the Alliance in 1996 with a coalition of national aging and long-term care organizations. Under her leadership, the Alliance has led many national research studies on caregiving across the lifespan, including the Caregiving in the U.S. series with AARP. Hunt supported the development of a national network of more than 80 caregiving coalitions in state and local communities. She also serves as the Chair of the International Alliance of Carer Organizations, a global coalition of fifteen nations dedicated to advancing the needs of caregivers around the world.
