BRIDGEPORT – Taineisha Harrell scored the only goal of the game as the Hirschi Lady Huskies picked up a 1-0 win over the Bridgeport Sissies in District 3-4A soccer action.

The Lady Huskies are 8-9 for the season and 5-0 in district action.

They will take on Burkburnett at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the MSU Soccer Field.

Lady Bulldogs win, 3-2 

DECATUR – Marley Cooke scored all three of Burkburnett’s goals Friday as the Lady Bulldogs beat Decatur for their second win of the season, 3-2.

Cooke broke a 2-2 tie in the second half for her third goal of the night and eighth against the Lady Eagles this season. Emily Espinoza had a goal, while Emily Moore, Camryn Hiday and goalie Ashley Green were standouts for Burkburnett (2-10-2, 2-2-1).

“They jumped on us early, but the ladies responded and had a solid game overall,” Burkburnett coach Patrick Birk. “It was a hard-fought win.”

Eagles whip Bulldogs, 5-1

DECATUR – The Decatur Eagles scored three second-half goals on the way to a 5-1 win over the Burkburnett Bulldogs Friday in District 3-4A soccer action.

“We really needed a result in this match, but we came out real flat,” Burkburnett coach Robert Daiker said. “This district is real tight and we couldn’t afford to have this kind of match. We will need to regroup and try to have a better outcome against Hirschi on Tuesday.”
