Join the Red Cross to Sound the Alarm and Save Lives from Home Fires – Newton NJ News

PRINCETON, NJ — The American Red Cross is asking everyone to help Sound the Alarm and be part of the nationwide Red Cross effort to help reduce the number of deaths and injuries caused by home fires.

The American Red Cross New Jersey Region will be holding Sound the Alarm home fire safety and smoke alarm installation events simultaneously in three New Jersey cities on Saturday, October 7 and Sunday, October 8. Red Cross volunteers, together with local fire departments and community partners, will be canvassing neighborhoods in Jersey City, Trenton and Camden, installing free smoke alarms and helping families create fire escape plans.

“In a typical year, home fires kill more people than all other natural disasters combined in the United States. We want to help protect families from home fires by installing free smoke alarms and providing important fire safety information,” said Ana Montero, CEO, American Red Cross New Jersey Region. “Please join us as we Sound the Alarm in New Jersey and help save lives. Be part of this lifesaving effort by registering to volunteer or making a financial donation.”
