Holli Jackson Wins District 8 Gatorade Secondary School Athletic Trainer of the Year Award

“I am honored to receive this award and represent all of the Secondary School ATC’s who work countless hours while impacting our young athletes lives.”

Holli Jackson MS, ATC, LMT, athletic trainer at Edison High School, is the District 8 Gatorade Secondary School Athletic Trainer of the Year Award. As part of the award, Holli received a grant for her program, as well as different Gatorade products from the performance package, a sideline cart, and an all-expense paid trip for the 2018 NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo.

About the award and her experience as an athletic trainer, Jackson says, “I am honored to receive this award and represent all of the Secondary School ATC’s who work countless hours while impacting our young athletes lives. Our profession provides us with an opportunity to stand alongside of our athletes during wins and losses, holding them while they cry and watching the joys of them return to play from an injury. As a Certified Athletic Trainer my patient’s well-being is my first priority. Together, with my fellow colleagues, I will continue to provide quality, evidenced based healthcare at the secondary school level and will continue to educate the general public, school districts and legislators that full time Certified Athletic Trainers are a necessity at every high school and should not be seen as a luxury. I am a Certified Athletic Trainer and am proud to influence the young minds of my high school students and protect them both on and off the fields.”

Jackson has been at Edison High School for 8 years and is responsible for the care and treatment of over 1,000 student-athletes.
